I am a Research Group Leader at the Max Planck Institute for the Physics of Complex Systems and the Center for Systems Biology Dresden. My group works on The Physics of Living Matter. In particular, we use and develop the physics of active matter to understand collective behaviors in cells and tissues. You can read more about our research directions here.

Previously, I was an HFSP postdoctoral fellow at the Princeton Center for Theoretical Science and the Lewis-Sigler Institute for Integrative Genomics of Princeton University. I obtained my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Jaume Casademunt in the Department of Condensed Matter Physics at the University of Barcelona, supported by a doctoral fellowship from the "La Caixa" Foundation.
